Last Saturday, I graduated from the University of Texas with a Masters of Arts in Latin American Studies. My parents came down for the occasion. Since all PhD, MA, and BA December graduates from the School of Arts and Sciences were having the same commencement, it was a rather lengthy and boring affair, but exciting nonetheless.
Here's a view of the floor of the stadium. I'm a little black speck towards the front.

Later, before dinner, I posed in my fancy gown with all the members of our party.

With "proud" Dad
We are all so proud of you Megan. Good job.
Congratulations, Megan! You seem to just be flying thruogh your education. What's the next step?
I am currently frantically looking for January - September employment, with the hope that in September Evan and I will both be entering into Ph.D. programs at some great school in some fabulous metropolitan area. I want to pursue Latin American History, and he Political Theory.
So, if all goes according to plan, the sensation of "flying" will soon come to a big slow-down, as I spend 5-10 years working on my next degree.
Congrats to you. I am pulling for some fabulous metropolis within driving distance of Rochester. It would be great to get to spend some time with you. I don't think I have seen you since maybe Dad's 60th B-day?
I love the pictures!
Well, practically everywhere we're applying is in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, or Northeast regions, so it's a good possibility. If we don't get in anywhere... WHO KNOWS where we might end up. If anyone wants to start giving offers on moving to particular locations, we're good with children and wouldn't mind babysitting in exchange for meals.
Have you considered the University of Rochester?
I am really proud of you too, Megan. Good luck to you and Evan as you search for your next university. I cannot recommend Malaysia, but I am sure the East Coast will be a great place for you.
Evan looks pimp. Ann all I have to say to you is applesauce, attaboy, bee's Kness's,big cheese, giggle water, and you are just the smartest person i know. You can most likely tell that I've become found of 1920's slang and i hope you will too.
